Trolley Brawl Long Form Workshops
  Started at Thu Jan 29 14:43:35 2004
Hey everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I plan on being in Salt Lake City for a whole week when I come in for Trolley Brawl 2.

I also plan on devoting this week to some Utah Improv! What does that mean?

I'd love to teach a few workshops and maybe even guest coach any team interested.

I'd like to do classes too over multiple class times and days. Here's some things I was thinking about:

An Intoduction to Long Form
Being a Fun Scene Partner
Playing Real
Being a Fun Long Form Teammate
Advanced Long Form "Techniques"
Not Judging

I have been studying Long Form non-stop since I moved to Chicago and have been building up some information that I feel I can share with others. I have had some great teachers and teammates and my improv mind has been turned upside down.

Let me know if you'd at all be interested in taking any workshops that week.

Also if there's anything in particular you'd like to work on, let me know that too.

If anyone can help me book a room or theatre or something like that on Saturday, March 20th, please let me know.

Depending on the amount of people interested in this, I'd love to do two 3 hour classes.

Well, I want to do my own class and teach some long form stuff I've learned and open it to everyone, instead of going and stepping on toes.

I also pretty much need to do it in SLC, cos I'm staying there AND I don't have a car.

And I'm well aware that I'll be holding these workshops at the same time other troupes are holding theirs, but I'm going back to Chicago after mine, they aren't.

Hopefully no one minds.

Thanks to SuzyGreenEyes, we've got a place for the Long Form Workshops!

It's in the basement of...

St. Paul's Episcopal Church
261 South 900 East
Salt Lake City

Beginner Class - 11:30am - 2:30pm
Advanced Class - 3:00pm - 6:00pm

The classes are about half filled, and I would love to teach to anyone who's willing to have fun for 3 hours and open to learning some long form scenework and techniques.

I'll spend a lot of time on individual notes and strengths. Plus I'll be available after the classes to talk improv, food, entymology, anything you want!

Click here for more information or to sign up!

Hello All!
I still need to fine tune how to let you all in. First I have to be sure to beat you all there so I can turn off the alarm. If anyone goes in the main oors and takes the elevator down you'll be in for a horrible buzzing noise, flashing lights, an a large burley man named Micah (the groundsman) who might be carrying a shovel or something.

Otherwise you'll all just be locked out, as I have the key. Also, people generally have to have a scan card, or be buzzed in to get into the building; so even after I'm there there will be the problem of getting everyone who shows up into the school without a huge hassel.

My thoughts:
i'll get there 1/2 hour before the first class to get into the building first. I'm hoping you'll all be nice enough to get to your classes on time so when you hit the button on the speaker box I can answer with ease and open the door. I urge those of you in the first class to be as close to on time as possible as I'm taking that class as well, and want to be on time myself.

If anyone needs a ride and isn't too far out of the way I don't mind being helpful in that regard, as long as you don't mind being there at 11. (I live in Holladay near QW SLC)

Oh. The entrance is on 900 East on the east side of the street. Parking is directly across the street, an parallel parking in either 900 East or 300 South is equally as acceptable.

The main doors to the church are the double doors on the west wall of the chruch (closest to 900 East) near the turn around/handicapped parking lot. If you go inside those doors, turn right and you will find an elevator. I'm not sure if it will be on or not, but if it is, take it to the first floor, get off, and to your left there will be a doorway to where I assume class will be.

If the elevator is off or you don't want to risk it, just go back outside and to the right of the double doors, there's a single door with a sign outside reading "St.Paul's Preschool Entrance" or something close to it. Press the button on the speakerbox and someone, probably me, will answer and let you in.

If you have questions or comments regarding the location PM me, and I'll do my best to answer.

new people.
new thoughts (as i really think i feel differently than most about improv).

come to trolley brawl on thursday night. bring questions to class. this'll be fun...

see you all saturday!

Both classes were great. There was a fair nuumber in attendance, a great energy, and a wonderful teacher. I know I learned a lot about so many aspects of the art, the community, and what kinds of foods will best make new friends. (Some things I was introduced to I'd maybe rather have not been, but I'll post about that after giving it some more thought....)

In any case it was nice to meet you all, and get to know your personalities. I'd like to say that I saw a lot of talent and humor today. It was great to spend my saturday with you, and I hope to see you all tomorrow.

Thanks Ryloc for teaching!

I had an awesome time in the workshop saturday. I felt great afterward, and my desire to do more improv has increased 10-fold!

I thought the wide variety of people and skill levels in the class made it all the better, and enjoyed every minute.

Nice meeting everyone also, it would be awesome to play with everyone who went to the workshop again someday... somehow... time for sleep now...

Hey, anyone who enjoyed Ryan's classes or missed out on them, come to The Center Theater (355 N. 3rd W.) this Saturday, March 27th, from 4 PM to 6 PM. We'll be doing some of the same exercises, but pushing them a little more and in different ways. Plus, you get a two for one ticket to see the show that night. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Sooner or later, we all got back to zero.

Gap corrosion: in the narrow gap, such as the flange or the connection of the thread, the gap in the passivation layer may be damaged, in the design, should be avoided as far as possible using flanges and threaded connections, to avoid the combined gap. In the welding process, should avoid undercut and so on.Stainless Steel Rolled Tubing

Intergranular corrosion: Intergranular corrosion occurs in the chromium-poor areas, resulting in decreased corrosion resistance, corrosion in the strong acidic environment. Chemical Cargo ship stainless steel carbon content of less than 0.03%, after prolonged heating carbon content increases, and steel surface if subject to oil, grease, paint and paint pollution, prone to intergranular corrosion.

Stress corrosion cracking: it is austenitic stainless steel in the chloride ion, mechanical stress and temperature rise under the action of cracking, in the 60 ° below and the cargo tanks rarely occur stress corrosion cracking. It occurs occasionally in a heating coil (heating a chloride-containing semi-solid oil or exposing it to a seawater ballast tank containing chloride ions).duplex stainless steel plate

Electrochemical Corrosion: Dissimilar materials may be electrochemically corroded due to electrolyte contact. When carbon steel and stainless steel welding, the active metal carbon steel accelerated corrosion. Under the driving of the electrolysis voltage, the electrolytic current between the two components causes electrochemical corrosion.3 inch stainless steel tube
