Perhaps we can get Mr. "Ron Weasley" to provide some behind-the-scenes commentary...

So, what think ye? Any guesses on what will happen in book 6? How did you feel about the death?

Ryan, If you liked the Harry potter books, might I suggest anything written by Roald Dahl? The writing style is similair. A few of my favorites:

Bfg

James and the Giant Peach

Charlie and the Chocolate factory

Matilda

I'm not talking the movies, but the actual books. In fact, when I first read the Harry Potter series, I could have sworn they were written by the same person.

Yep. I'm still not sure if it was the curse or the fact that he fell into the curtain that killed him. Now I have to just sit and wait for the 6th. anyone have guesses how long that one's gonna take?

What I didn't like was after his guardians death, Harry could see those things. Wasn't he witness to his mothers?

I liked it though. I didn't like that he was whiney.

I think Dumbledore will get it in the next one.

J.K. Rowlings said that there will only be 7 books and I think that the seventh will be a showdown without the protection of dumbledore. If you follow the pattern of how Harry is always tormented by something that happened in the last book in the current one, it would seam to me that Dumbledore is going to get xed.

Ya I think it is going to be like 3 years and dumbledor is gonna get aced.

All though Jake, if you look back at the book he can see the horse type creatures at the beginning, well before his guardians death, he can see them because he "saw death", as they put it, in book 4 when Voldemort killed Cedric.

Another prediction is that one of the Weasleys gets it too.
She said that there will only bee 7 books, but she is setting it up to go to another series after he graduates. They are already talking about how he wants to be an Auror and the like, and there is a point in the book that they mention that to be an Auror you have to take a couple more years of school. hhhmmmmm books 8-10 ?

You are so right about Cedric. I still maintain that he should have already been able to see them because of his mother.

maybe it has something to do with being able to remember the death vividly. He only has bits and pieces of his parents deaths.

Yeah it probably is something like that. Since as a child he couldn't really remember his parents and didn't know what was happening.

P.S. Can I be a supreme with extra cheese?grin

P.P.S. I have been taking p.s.ing lessons from joel.

Holy Crap!! I can't believe I missed this section for so long!! Anyway, I did like #5, I read it in two days, but I read really fast. I actually liked the fact the Harry was so damn whinny. Hes sixteen. If you remember being sixteen that is what you do; complain, whine, bitch and moan constantly. I thought it was a great character choice on the part of the author.

Im Ron Weeeeeeeasley!!!!grin

The first time I read OOTP I was dismayed by the change in Harry's attitude - I thought it wasn't consistent with the rest of the series. Then I remembered what a little s**t I was in the 14-15 age range and realized that JK REALLY nailed this one well.

I was in London in 2001 and I went to Kings Cross rail station and hung out for a while on the walkway between platforms 9 and 10 (before the movies came out). How much of a HP geek am I?

On a travel related note, if you ever go to merry 'ol England, there is a little pub there called "The Grenadier" in the embassy section of London. Incredible atmosphere and the place is haunted to boot.
